ABOUT THE FILM
Join us for an immersive screening of the award-winning shadow puppet film Hunter 77.
This film is based on the life of Joe Philips, a Jamaican immigrant steelworker living in Sheffield during the 60s, who spent eight years building a boat to sail home. Multimedia artist Cole Morris sends Joe on an epic journey across the world, encountering both real and fictional stories of immigration, war and displacement during the 1970s.
The screening will feature a live soundtrack performed by three musicians, a small exhibition of the shadow puppets and a Q&A with the artist.

Dig Where You Stand is an archival justice movement. Rooted in South Yorkshire, we disrupt colonial archival practices and restore dignity to the Black, brown and global majority people who have been harmed by them. We do this by exploring archival records and using art to reimagine the lives contained within them. We share this work through events, exhibitions, resources and training programmes.
