ABOUT THE SHOW

Meduulla

Meduulla is a 25-year-old Zimbabwean-born rapper and DJ from North Manchester whose music defies labels. Combining modern flows and witty lyricism with jazz-infused hip-hop beats, her sound both reflects the present day and carries a nostalgic edge. Meduulla first broke onto the scene as a finalist on BBC’s The Rap Game UK, quickly establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with.

An award-winning artist, she released her debut EP in 2023, earning spots on DJ Mag and Wonderland’s "Ones to Watch" list. Since then, she’s toured independently across Europe, building a devoted fanbase with her electrifying performances. Meduulla’s collaborations continue to make waves, including a standout partnership with challenger beauty brand e.l.f. Cosmetics to create an original track. Now, she’s putting the finishing touches on her second studio project, slated for release later this year.

With each track, Meduulla pushes boundaries, blending genres and influences to craft something that’s uniquely her own.

Grumpy

Grumpy is a 24 year old British Nigerian-born Afro-fusion singer/songwriter who displays his personality and experiences through his music.

His blended heritage, childhood upbringing and current interests are tools of expression through his music. His interest for music began early, growing up in a musical family for many years his father was a choir leader who also made sure the other members were involved including himself. His parents constantly listened to various old school African artists such as Sunny Ade, Yinka Ayefele and Ebenezer Obey. All who heightened his interests and fascination for music.

La Rumba

La Rumba is the name given by Venezuelan-born, UK-raised Román, to the Sheffield-based party and Latino collective which has spread its wings to Leeds, Barcelona, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro, the French Alps.

Started in 2017 as an exploration into global dance floor culture, La Rumba has hosted nearly as many legends in their respective scenes as cutting-edge selectors at the top of the game from Amadou & Mariam, Dele Sosimi and Nubian Twist on the live stage to Mr Scruff, Channel One, Midland and Shanti Celese in the club.
