Nadine Shah
Migration Matters Festival Presents: Nadine Shah with support from Zawedde Trio
27 June | Time: 19:00 | Venue: Foundry
ABOUT THE SHOW
Nadine Shah is a Mercury Prize nominated songwriter and musician who released her fifth critically acclaimed album, Filthy Underneath in 2024.
This album campaign also provided for Nadine’s first tv show appearances with full band - with Jools Holland - and on RTE’S Other Voices - along with live performances on 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq’s show and BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends show with Clive Anderson.
Her albums touching on such subjects as mental health and addiction, Shah has lent her voice to many other causes that she is passionate about: She provided testimony to the UK Government's Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee as part of an ongoing probe into the economics of music streaming in November 2020, pointing to a lack of transparency regarding musicians' royalty payments; and she has been part of calls for a ceasefire in the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
About Zawedde
In this show, Zawedde and her trio will perform songs from her project SHUDDER, a tale in two parts. A contemplation and interrogation of how the personal and political intertwine.

Following supporting Young Fathers‘ and then Depeche mode on their Arena tour throughout the UK and Europe this spring, Nadine played a sold-out UK headline tour in April/May ‘24 and various summer festivals ( including Green Man, Krankenhaus and Edinburgh Festival ) and was special guest for New Order at Wythenshawe Park and Elbow at Ludlow Castle.
Nadine played a short Winter Tour across Europe in late November ’24 culminating in a triumphant sold out Kentish Town Forum show in December -her biggest UK show to date.
In December, she also returned as a guest vocalist on the Pogues 40th Anniversary iteration of their ‘Red Roses for Me ‘ album at 3 Arena Dublin.

She has also established herself as a presenter across a number of events such as The Q Awards and the AIM Awards; on programmes for 6 Music, BBC Sounds and Radio 4; and via her own Instagram Stories series PAYBACK, which saw her interview music journalists during lockdown.
Shah is currently working on a new album set for release 2026.
