ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS
Join Brazilian artist Bellas da Silveira for two joyful, participatory dance workshops exploring Afro-Brazilian traditions and the vibrant movement culture of Rio de Janeiro’s street carnival. Open to all levels, the sessions introduce rhythms and dances such as Coco, Maracatu, and carnival styles inspired by blocos, Axé, and Funk Carioca. Through guided movement, rhythm, and collective energy, participants experience Brazilian culture through the body rather than words.
Led by an artist from Rio, these workshops celebrate migration, resilience, and cultural exchange, creating a welcoming space where people can move, connect, and share in the powerful traditions that shape Brazil’s popular culture.
