Flavours of belonging - Cooking Workshop

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Food is often how we build connections. Join us for a hands-on cooking workshop led by Chefs from Ammi’s Kitchen, sharing their recipes that carry memories of their home and identity.
You'll cook collaboratively, guided directly by the women behind the dish - their stories, their techniques, their kitchen. Together, you'll be invited to sit down and share conversation whilst you try new authentic foods.
Celebrate the cultural knowledge and lived experience that migrants bring to our city. Leave with a full stomach, a recipe card, and a reminder that the best things - food, stories, humanity - have no borders.
Separately from this cooking workshop, Ammi’s Kitchen hosts Community Lunches or Takeaways every Friday.
Community Lunch (Free & Pay As You Feel) - Friday 19th June - 12:00-14:00
Ammi's Kitchen Community Lunch takes place every other Friday 12-2pm at Common Ground Community Centre. Their vegan and vegetarian menu offers sabzi, rice, and chutneys cooked and served by migrant women who have learned culinary skills from the generations of women before them.
The meal is always pay as you feel and free if on benefits/NRPF. Anyone is welcome to their beautiful fortnightly event where food brings people together from different cultures and backgrounds, fostering a sense of belonging and creating community integration in Nether Edge and Sharrow.
Ammi's Kitchen Takeaway - Friday 26th June - 15:00-18:00
Ammi’s Kitchen will be cooking a tasty takeaway on Friday 26th June.
Pre-Order by 5pm on Tuesday 23rd June before we sell out!
You can choose to have the takeaway delivered to your house or collect it from Common Ground Community Centre between 3 and 6pm.
