ABOUT THE EVENT

Migration Matters Festival, for the first time in its 11 year history, is heading outdoors!

With this years theme paying homage to Sheffield’s industrial roots, there’s no better place than Kelham Island Museum to host the Forged By Migration Outdoor Stage in collaboration with Sheffield Museums.

Celebrating the communities and cultures that have made Sheffield what it is, expect a soulful and (hopefully) sun-filled afternoon as we welcome musicians, dancers, poets and performers to show what makes this city special.

So join us for a free, family-friendly event featuring vibrant music, DJs, dance, exhibitions, international food, and museum acitivities.

MC - JewelZ

JewelZ The Thinker is a spoken word artist whose work lives at the intersection of truth, faith, and self-discovery. Rooted in raw storytelling and poetic introspection, her writing explores identity, mental health, corruption, and the quiet work of becoming whole - all through a lens grounded in her love for the LORD.

First published in a poetry anthology in 2014, JewelZ has continued to shape her voice both on stage and in community - performing alongside K.O.G., hosting and curating her own poetry showcase, and competing as a Mind Over Slammer contestant. Known for her vibrant, inviting energy, she has also built a reputation as a host who creates warm, engaging spaces where audiences feel seen and connected.

Currently working on her debut EP, Jewelz the Thinker is crafting a body of work that is as vulnerable as it is empowering - inviting listeners into a journey of healing, reflection, and transformation.
