ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Join artist Liam Skillen for a gentle and welcoming workshop at RivelinCo exploring writing and cyanotype printing.
Taking inspiration from Liam's grandfather's poetry and Hungarian indigo dyeing processes, you'll use sunlight to create your own printed napkins that weave in fragments of writing.
You don't need any experience and all materials are included, as well as snacks and drinks.

Liam is an artist, producer and curator exploring cultural identity and the development of traditions.
His work explores the identity of historic and contemporary Central and Eastern European communities in the UK. By examining his own environment and that of communities living memories, he looks to find commonalities in traditions and ways of preserving culture.
His practice involves bringing together contemporary narratives with traditional crafts to create something that exists in a space between generations, continents, and communities. International research and local archives inform his practice, allowing him to explore narratives in a multi-faceted way, merging together the past and present.
He works with and empowers groups across the Midlands to share untold histories, recently curating the Capturing Shadows exhibition and programme in Mansfield, and co-curating the ‘Polish Heart Beats Here’ exhibition at the National Civil war Centre in Newark.
